Full or part-time

$60-80k PA

Application Deadline:

October 10, 2021

At SparkLoop, we build the best referral software for growing your email-list.

Founded just over a year ago, our small team is profitable, 100% remote, and successful: we power seven of the ten biggest newsletter referral programs in the world, including household names like Tim Ferriss, James Clear, and Front Office Sports.

But that’s not enough.

Over the next few years we want to help thousands more media companies, newsletter creators and ecommerce brands grow their email audiences with our products.

And — to make that happen — we need you.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As our first Product Educator, you’ll be the content marketer responsible for inspiring, motivating and teaching our (prospective) customers how to use our products quickly and effectively for email growth.

Working closely with our founders, you’ll quickly become both “the person who knows how to do { complicated thing X } with SparkLoop,” and “the person who can teach it to others in a clear and engaging way.”

Day-to-day, you’ll:

  • create video and written support content enabling our existing users to use SparkLoop more effectively without having to contact our support team
  • create video and written product-marketing content inspiring prospective customers to try out SparkLoop by demonstrating how easy it is to use (and get great results)
  • work closely with our customers (some of the best publishers, email marketers and newsletter creators in the world) to understand their needs and challenges using SparkLoop. This includes providing a small amount of customer support
  • use your understanding of how customers use SparkLoop to play a key role in shaping the user experience and development of new features with our product team

As the role develops, you’ll have the opportunity to shape it into:

  • a pure content marketing role
  • a pure customer success role
  • a community management role
  • a completely different role we don’t even know we need yet

The right candidate should have:

  • native-level fluency in English
  • availability during North American or Western European working hours
  • in-depth experience with at least one major ESP (email marketing platform)
  • a demonstrable ability to take complex tasks and distill them into engaging and easily-understandable video/written instructions
  • a dynamic and engaging personality, both on camera and in written content
  • a deep interest in the newsletter/media industry and helping email creators succeed
  • exceptional self-organisational skills and a high degree of autonomy (you’ll be working in a young, fast-growing organisation where a lot of the things we do, we’re doing for the very first time)

Signs You Might Be A Great Fit

If one or more of the following apply to you, there’s an excellent chance you’re the right person for the role:

  • You have experience working as a content creator or in a customer success role at a major ESP
  • You have experience creating video/written content related to newsletters or email marketing
  • You have experience working in email marketing/newsletters (either running your own successful newsletter, or at a mid-large size media organisation)
  • You have in-depth knowledge of how to use one or more email marketing platforms, perhaps as an email marketing/automation consultant

We’re still early days at SparkLoop. So — if you’re the kind of person who requires a perfectly structured work environment with everything figured out in advance to perform well — then it’s probably not a fit.

But — if you’re the kind of person who is comfortable doing things for the first time — then this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

You’ll have a high degree of agency and flexibility to establish the structure, responsibilities, and best practices for your role. All while working day-to-day with some of the smartest email marketers and decision makers at publications read by millions of people worldwide.

You’ll also enjoy:

  • 100% remote work with flexible scheduling (our entire team is remote)
  • a calm team culture based on autonomy, individual empowerment and async-first communication
  • 4+ weeks paid holiday/year
  • regular team retreats (when travel is appropriate)
  • A monthly budget for equipment, remote work and personal development

For this role we are open to both part-time and full-time candidates (60-100% FTE equivalent).

The salary range for this role is $60-80k PA.
